Project: Estudio Atemporal
Location:Cráter, Jardines del Pedregal, CDMX.

Area: 170 m2
Year: 2018

Understanding culture as the project’s articulating axis, the proposal for a new Japanese restaurant focuses on conceiving a harmony between the dishes and the space that envelops the dining experience.

From the floor emerges a lower enveloping element, with a tectonic expression that references ceramic craftsmanship and traditional pictorial values, giving shape to the bars, seating, and service areas. In parallel, the roof descends as a lightly assembled wooden structure, dynamic in form, whose curvature and shifts in scale encourage the emergence of micro-environments and multiple ways of inhabiting the space.

The handling of light throughout the day allows the vocation and atmosphere of a single space to shift over time. Supported by carefully placed decorative elements and the integration of a cohesive textile palette, each area is articulated to form an architectural element that is unified both internally and in its relationship with the user.
