Project: Estudio Atemporal
Location: Iztaccíhuatl 36D, Hipódromo, CDMX, México
Area: 43 m2
Year: 2015
This project emerges around the experience of travel—specifically the voyages of discovery that took place across the globe during the 19th century. Baltra, part of the Galápagos archipelago, was one of the islands visited by Charles Darwin during his expeditions. In this case, mixology and décor were conceived as the medium through which guests could travel the world.
Given the small scale of the venue, it was essential to synthesize the concept through a series of concise yet clear interventions. As a result, the design permeates every scale of the project, from the space itself to the furniture and all decorative elements.
The cocktail bar is the structuring element of the entire space. In front of it, a series of tables and comfortable armchairs allow guests to enjoy a more intimate experience. Furthermore, through the careful curation of decorative objects that reference the experience of a voyage of discovery, the interior area and the terrace establish a direct and pleasant relationship.
