Location: Playa Troncones, Zihuatanejo, Guerro, Mexico
Area: 299 m2
Year: 2025
Set on a sloping site that ascends towards the hillside, the design takes shape through a series
of landscape interventions, working with the topography, sunlight, and trees.
Instead of one big structure, the house breaks into smaller volumes, each with its own material
vibe, creating different moods and spaces. The house is envisioned as a sculpture that grew
from the ground, rooted into the earth, then split apart to make room for a functional and
comfortable living.
With the help of rough, earthy and imperfect local materials, the constructed elements blend
into the landscape. The more it settles in place, the less prominent it feels and the more it
feels a shelter, a sancturary, somewhere you just belong. Walkscapes and outdoor spots are
integral to the daily rhythms of the house, reinforcing how the site breathes and connects with
everything around it.
