CASA EN AMATLÁN

CASA EN AMATLÁN

Project: Estudio Atemporal
Location: Amatlán, Morelos, México
Area: 526 m2
Year: 2022

The project can be envisioned as a program that emerges from the earth, composed in both uses and volumes from the ground up.

The relationship between the lower levels and the terrain sets the foundation for developing the upper levels, which, in turn, appear to “hover” above the natural ground, anchored to the context through views and circulation paths.

A solid and bold materiality rises from the earth to support a series of pavilion-like structures, connected through their functions and a network of virtual voids that host outdoor social activities.

Private activities are characterized by a sense of seclusion and containment—a cloister-like environment—where the priority is rest and comfort, complemented by views and deliberate interactions between volumes and open spaces.

The service area is designed as a program connected to the main house while maintaining the privacy needed for its role as a “secondary house,” accommodating independent users and private activities.
