Project: Estudio Atemporal
Location: San Simón el Alto, Valle de Bravo, Estado de México, México
Area: 143 m2
Year: 2022
On the outskirts of Valle de Bravo, in the village of San Simón El Alto, the project of a single-family residence is developed, conceived as a contemporary cabin.
Its particular spatial qualities, the interplay of light and scale, together with the use of pure geometry as an interpretation of the traditional cabin, allow for a volumetric exploration that responds directly to the site conditions: topography, boundaries, and orientation.
The program is organized into a public area—living space, terrace, kitchen, and services—defined by a double-height gabled volume; a terrace that extends the interior toward the exterior, creating a dual spatial condition; and a private area composed of two bedrooms on the ground floor and a master bedroom on the upper level.
The contrast between exterior and interior, both in volumetry and materiality, generates distinct atmospheres with their own character, allowing for a dual experience in the way the house is inhabited.
