CASA GUAPINOLE

CASA GUAPINOLE

Project: Estudio Atemporal
Location: Playa Guapinole, Oaxaca, México
Area: 600 m2
Year: 2020

The project takes as its point of departure the reinterpretation of local techniques and elements. Through a unifying roof, the entire program is developed, contextualizing the project through its textures and its primary element: the palapa.

Beneath this roof, all activities are integrated, with moments of rupture introduced to open up new views, promote natural ventilation and solar exposure, and maintain a constant connection to the surrounding environment and existing vegetation.

Circulation generates different spatial experiences on each side. Toward the beach, the terrace acts as an extension of the landscape and a fusion with nature. Toward the interior, a corridor connects each space in a more intimate manner, clearly differentiating public and private areas.
