Mexico City, characterized in recent years by an emerging arts scene, becomes the ideal setting in which Sónar and AMD share a common context—both geographic and social—surrounded by a wide spectrum of creative experimentation and diverse positions. It is within this privileged moment that, as a gesture materializing this connection, a piece is developed to be shared by both festivals, interacting with two immediate contexts and specific audiences, and making tangible the collaborative atmosphere in which we find ourselves.

AMD at ExTeresa Arte Actual presents a space defined by a Baroque chapel that immediately evokes introspection, containment, and scale. A series of carefully placed openings for light, along with the chapel’s particular height and dimensions, serve as the starting point for the development of an element with a defined morphology that inhabits this space. In the case of Sónar, Parque Bicentenario is presented as a vast green area, where the limits of intervention are virtual, dissolving among vegetation and pathways, and where the open sky and the transition from day to night offer an opportunity for transformation within the temporality of the same element—whose morphology now takes on meaning as a landmark within the festival.

The proposal is conceived as a piece that encourages interaction with the user, functioning as a bridge between both contexts and working in harmony with its immediate surroundings to generate meaning and dialogue. Formed through the integration of design, context, and technology, it is focused on creating a connection that transcends moments and social spheres, linking the audiences of both festivals through a shared reading and understanding.
