Located in the Tulum jungle, this space—like its sister venue in Mexico City—seeks to set itself apart from other establishments by concealing its entrance, revealing itself only to those truly searching for a different place, while maintaining its speakeasy character.
In this setting, a sequence of concrete volumes emerges from the ground, contrasting with the surrounding vegetation and forming a series of pavilions with a heavy material presence that nevertheless feels light through its structural expression.
The project organizes its program according to the modules that make up the ensemble: two independent pavilions that function as covered dining areas, a restroom area concealed behind what resembles a pyramid, and a bar that becomes the heart of the place, with the kitchen and additional service areas located behind it.
Through the use of basic constructive elements—columns, roofs, straight and curved walls, and variations in height—a distinct experience is created within each pavilion, always maintaining direct contact with the materiality in its purest expression and clearly expressing function. The solid roofs shelter and protect from the sun and the ever-present tropical rain of the region.

Bar Zapote surge como el resultado de un análisis de las tipologías tradicionales de la península de Yucatán; un proceso de evolución y mezcla de culturas, corrientes y usos y costumbres muy apegados a la vida familiar.
Este concepto permea hacia un bar que se vive como la sala de estar del hotel Rosewood Mayakoba, donde el ambiente cálido e informal invita a todos los huéspedes del hotel a sentirse en casa fomentando la creación de vínculos y diálogos entre todos los visitantes.
Materiales locales y honestos, texturas con evocaciones al pasado y una pátina de uso en los ambientes, se funden dentro de una atmósfera que evoluciona con el paso del día, ofreciendo distintos momentos y grados de convivencia.
